DAY 3
The Whitman House, Seattle Erika and I decided to get some good sleeps and cold showers down in Seattle again tonight, in lieu of staying with the parents of our lead actress Katrina, Julie and Brad, who have not only been the most gracious of hosts, but Julie is our craft-services (food/catering) person and is working incredible hard to keep us all nourished and hydrated on the set. It is NOT an easy task by any stretch. I am going to elaborate on this entry for sure - but I MUST go to sleep and fast. We shot an INCREDIBLE scene in the cemetery this afternoon (after a FULL morning with all the boys and girls at the creek) and Tommy (Nathan) and Liza (Katrina) performed beautifully for our first real "money shot" (we had to rent an elaborate "dolly" for this shot - a smooth gliding track that the D.P. and the camera are rolled along on, to achieve silent, silky smooth camera motion. This was a slow dolly-in, and then another dolly-out while Tommy plays his harmonica and Liza dances - both of them pretty badly! Their awkwardness and honesty moved a crew of some 30 folks, indeed. More soon... -Todd
